We live in a colourful world!

We live in an amazing world don’t we? We get to enjoy flowers and fruits, sunsets and beaches, animals and wildlife. Wow!

Can you imagine what the world would look like in black and white? We would still see form and shape, and indeed many details. But it certainly isn’t what the natural world was intended to look like. These photos show just a tiny snapshot of the natural world and even here there are a vast array of colours.

From time to time on my social media I like to encourage people to get outside and notice the colours around us. Even in the winter, which we are slowly emerging from, there is still colour to be seen. although you have to look a bit harder for it. But now, with spring bulbs bursting into life, we are seeing many more colours around us. And we don’t have to live in exotic places or in the countryside to see colour in the natural world. Gardens, local parks and even town centres can have trees, flowers, market stalls and animals to enjoy!
Next time you’re out and about, see if you can spot a daffodil. And when you see it, don’t just look at it, but really examine it. Yes, take the time! Even within one flower head you might have different shades of yellow, some oranges, or some whites.
And given that we live in such a colourful world, perhaps it should naturally follow that our ‘natural environments’, in other words our homes, should be places filled with colour too. I’m not suggesting that we should fill our homes with every colour and shade under the sun (although don’t let me stop you if that works for you!), but it is worth taking the time to think about the kinds of colours you are drawn to and you will enjoy having in your home.
If that’s something you’ve never really thought about before, then you’re in the right place! Why not book a consultation with me and let me help guide you towards the best colours for you in your home. And if you’re local to Trowbridge, I’d love to see you at my upcoming colour workshop! All the details of how to explore these options are on my website.
In the meantime, do get outside and enjoy the colourful world around us.
